A weekend with lots of music and customs

Hot punch, sweet and savory dishes as a base and lots of kitsch and handicrafts are available in many places during Advent. A small selection:

Rohrbach: There is a punch stand at Rohrbach’s town square throughout Advent. From 26 November to 23 December inclusive, punch, mulled wine, mulled cider, children’s punch, sausages and raclette bread are available every day except Monday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. directly in front of the town hall.

Niederkappel: A Christmas market takes place on Saturday in the parish home Niederkappel. A family breakfast is served from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. At 10:30 a.m., Advent wreaths will be blessed.

Kleinzell: Around 30 stands are expected tomorrow, Saturday, from 2 to 7 p.m. at the JVP Kleinzell Christmas market. At 2 p.m. a children’s film starts in the rectory and St. Nicholas comes at 4 p.m.

Neustift: The association L(i)ebenswertes Neustift and the Neustift-Rannariedl rural youth invite you to the contemplative Advent market on Saturday from 1.30 p.m. in Pühret. Horse-drawn sleigh rides are offered from 2 p.m. and Punch and Judy comes at 2.30 p.m. Santa Claus is scheduled for 3:45 p.m. After music by the Rannariedl wind group, there will be a fire show at 5 p.m.

St. Vitus: The first weekend in Advent tomorrow in St. Veit will be all about the pre-Christmas period. The Sport-Union invites you to the Christmas market on Kirchenplatz. It starts at 8 a.m. already. In the afternoon from 4 p.m. the tower horns will sound contemplative melodies and the Advent wreath will be consecrated in the church. Santa Claus is coming at 5 p.m.

Oberkappel: The Advent punch stand of the Oberkappel cultural association opens its doors again in the run-up to Christmas on the community forecourt. It is open from 5 p.m. to midnight on November 25 and 26, December 2 and 3, December 7, 9 and 10, and December 16 and 17.

marker: An Advent market will be held in the Peilstein municipal center on November 26 (2 p.m. to 11 p.m.) and 27 November (10 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.). On Saturday there will also be a puppet show at 4 p.m. in the Haus der Musik.

Bad Leonfelden: A stall market with an art exhibition awaits visitors at the Leonfelden Christmas market on Saturday, November 26th and Sunday, November 27th. On Saturday the market opens its doors at 2 p.m. (until 10 p.m.). On Sunday it starts at 8.30 a.m. (until 5 p.m.). Then the OÖ. School museum from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to the film cabinet, old children’s school films will be shown.

Perg: Handicrafts, cookies and performances by the recorder children await visitors tomorrow at the punch stand of the Musikverein Pergkirchen (4 p.m.) on the village square.

Zwettl: The settlers’ association and the FF Zwettl invite you to the biscuit market on Saturday from 2 p.m. on the church square. At 4:30 p.m., Advent wreaths will be blessed in the parish church.

Reichenthal: A particularly atmospheric Advent market opens its doors from November 26th to 27th in the museum and mill village of Reichenthal. More than 70 artisans offer their products. In the “living workshops” an insight into the elaborate craftsmanship is given. Info: www.muehlenverein.at

Pregarten: On the first Sunday in Advent, November 27th, the Big Brass & Rhythm Band Freistadt will give the benefit concert “Fast Christmas” in the Bruckmühle Pregarten. The concert begins at 6 p.m. in the Bruckmühle Pregarten. Tickets at www.bruckmuehle.at

Freistadt: A fairytale Advent atmosphere awaits visitors today from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the street advent in Freistadt’s old town. At the same time, the Fairy Tale Trail opens, which this year features various fairy tale scenes in 20 shop windows and numerous prizes to be won. A night watchman tour at 6.30 p.m. makes the start of Advent perfect.

Hagenberg: The Hagenberger Advent market on Saturday (2 p.m. to 8 p.m.) and Sunday (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) offers stalls from regional artists and associations and pre-Christmas delicacies.

Gramastetten: The Gramastettner Christmas market takes place tomorrow from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Up to 50 exhibitors will offer their goods. There is also a lot of culinary and delicious things.

Neumarkt im Mühlkreis: Meet friends and acquaintances, enjoy the culinary offerings, listen to the atmospheric pre-Christmas sounds and do your first Christmas shopping – this year the Neumarkt Advent market offers the ideal setting for a feel-good weekend in the center of Neumarkt.

St. Georgen/Gusen: After a two-year break, the St. Georgen market center will be transformed tomorrow afternoon into a pre-Christmas magical world where the scent of Christmas baking, hot punch and sausages is in the air. The cultural highlight is the performance of the “Movida Sisters” at 7 p.m. with their program “Swinging Christmas”.

Katsdorf: The farmers in Katsdorf organize an Advent market with a great supporting program on Saturday and Sunday in the new community center “Im HOF”. More than 60 exhibitors have announced themselves. Among other things on the program: a Christmas handicraft workshop for children and an animal play on Sunday morning.

Naarn in Machland: A colorful mixture of culinary delicacies and numerous handicraft stands, a sales market of the beekeepers and the gold hood women as well as an extensive children’s program offers the Naarn Advent on Saturday (3 p.m. – 10 p.m.) and Sunday (9 a.m. – 6 p.m.) around the market square. In the Gasthaus Walterer, the Naarner Theater-Minis put on a Christmas play.
