Cancer diagnosis: Kremsmünster’s mayor takes a break

“Health is our most important asset, but we also know that it cannot be taken for granted,” says Kremsmünster Mayor Gerhard Obernberger: “Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with cancer during my health check-up. This means that I will have to focus on my recovery in the near future and will therefore temporarily hand over official business to my Deputy Mayor Dagmar Fetz-Lugmayr from Monday, November 28th able to work with full commitment for Kremsmünster.

Local manager for 13 years

Obernberger has two adult sons, has been Mayor of Kremsmünster since autumn 2009 and has been active in municipal politics since 1991. In the last mayoral direct election in October, he had to go to a runoff with FP’s top candidate Christian Lamprecht, but then won it clearly with 64.8 percent of the votes.
