Austria Klagenfurt recorded a loss of three million euros in the past season

This was announced by the Bundesliga soccer team on Friday. According to this, the income increased from 2.09 to 5.82 million euros, but there was considerably less income, not least because of the loss of viewers as a result of the corona pandemic.

“We therefore had to complain about massive loss of income, which was ultimately only partially replaced. In addition, it was more difficult than expected to rekindle people’s interest in Austria. A lot of trust was lost here over the decades and it is a rocky road win back the supporters,” said President Herbert Matschek in a broadcast.

No bank debt

At the same time, it was emphasized that despite the 2021/22 loss and negative equity of 7.93 million euros, the club has no bank debt and is meeting its ongoing obligations. “SEH Sports & Entertainment Holding from Hamburg provides Austria with the necessary liquid funds in the form of a subordinated shareholder loan, which covers the deficit.”

According to Matschek, it is unfortunate that one is dependent on the drip of the shareholders and is dependent on their economic support. The goal must be to find even more regional partners in order to put the association on its own two feet. In the current financial year, a positive trend is noticeable in this regard, but the average number of viewers is falling, despite the good performance of the current sixth in the table, the club manager regretted.
