The only exception is the DS 9, which falls slightly behind with four stars. “The level is exceptionally high for cars rated with five stars,” says Max Lang, ÖAMTC expert for vehicle safety. “Absolute top values are now being achieved, especially in terms of adult and child safety, but also the equipment with driver assistance systems.” The best examples of the rapid development in active and passive safety: the adult safety of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 (97 percent) and the child safety of the Tesla Model S (91 percent). “And, at least as important: Safety is at this high level across all weight classes.”
