The first round went to the guests from Graz with 27:25, after that Rieder got into the game better and took the lead with 2:1 sets. The Styrians were not impressed by this and forced a fifth and decisive set, which the Graz team finally won 15:13.
“Of course it hurts to lose so close. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to call on our potential. At least we got a point. I would like to thank the 350 loud fans who cheered us on,” said UVC-Ried player Lauris Ochaya the party.
In the table, Rieder are currently in fifth place with four wins and four losses after eight games. UVC Ried is visiting Weiz next Saturday, and the away game against Aich/Dob is on December 10th.
Rieder will play their last home game in 2022 on Monday, December 19, at 8:20 p.m. against Amstetten. The duel against the Lower Austrians will be broadcast live on ORF Sport+.
