Generating more added value from your own products is the goal of direct marketing. This means that domestic agriculture is becoming increasingly independent of larger trade structures. The third-year students of the Schlägl organic school are producing six different products in their direct marketing project this year. The aim of the project is to think up your own organically certified products right from the start, to develop them, to produce them and to market them successfully.
A whole goat processed
Many ideas emerged from the motivated work in the project hours. Some of these have been implemented. In practical lessons at the school, the meat of a whole goat was processed into bacon and Käsekrainern, and venison bacon matured in herbal liqueur was produced. In order to be able to taste the specialties with relish, the students also produced wooden boards to go with them. Three different types of biscuits were made in grain processing. The processing of the Schlägler rye, which is well-known for the area, was particularly important to the students.
Peasant biscuit motifs
Agricultural motifs were chosen as cookie cutters. In addition, potato chips are freshly produced and offered on the day of sale. The students therefore invite you to the sales day on the open day, December 8th.
Because well-learned direct marketing does not end with the quality product, but only when it has been successfully sold to the customer.
