In close cooperation with the owners and caretakers of the 64 small monuments in the Rieder municipal area, these stone contemporary witnesses were not only portrayed in book form: the rural youth provided all monuments with information boards that provide information about their meaning and owner.
In the years 2015 to 2017, Robert Klausberger photographed all monuments and murals in the municipal area for a photo book. Two years ago Vice Mayor started. Martin Peterseil, together with the rural youth, a comprehensive project to take stock of the small monuments. This project was financially supported by the LEADER region Perg Strudengau. In the book now presented, not only are the individual small and field monuments documented in photographs, but also with an informative description. “These gems of our cultural landscape should be maintained and preserved for our descendants,” said Martin Peterseil at the presentation.
The initiative is rounded off by a network of hiking trails and a cycle path that connects the small monuments. Ernst Fürst worked out these routes.
The book is available for 15 euros in the “Marktplatzl” in Rieder.
