Goisern’s recycling center is closed: merger with ASZ Bad Ischl

The recycling center (ASZ) in Bad Goisern will be closed at the end of January. The ASZ Bad Ischl is then available to the public.

The main reason for this merger is the fact that many Goiserers are already bringing their old materials to the ASZ Bad Ischl: not only because it is close by (Sulzbach), but also because there are convenient ramps in front of the containers. While only very small amounts are collected in Goisern, they are many times higher in Bad Ischl. The capacity of the ASZ Bad Ischl is large enough for both communities, assures the chairman of the Gschwandt district waste association, Mayor Fritz Steindl.

The delivery of green and shrub cuttings will remain unchanged for the time being for the population in both communities. However, there are plans to set up a joint delivery point at a location between Bad Ischl and Bad Goisern in the coming years. It will also offer the possibility of shredding the collected material on site and then transporting it in a compacted state for further processing. In this way, many individual transports can be saved. (ebra)
