As SPÖ chairman for the Perg district, Erich Wahl sees his focus on youth work. “With the youth academy, we have succeeded in getting many young people enthusiastic about the ideas of social democracy. We want to continue on this path and set an educational focus for young people again in 2023.”
Speaking of the future: The list for the upcoming National Council elections – which are expected to be held in 2024 – was also decided at the conference. The current member of parliament for the district, Sabine Schatz, was confirmed as the top candidate. Behind her is the SPÖ local party leader from Baumgartenberg, Alexander Leutgeb.
The Victor Adler plaque, the highest award that social democracy can bestow, went to the former deputy mayor of Ried in der Riedmark, Herta Hiesböck, and former mayor Anton Aichinger of Mitterkirchen.
