Two per mille in the morning: Alkolenker landed in the field

During an operation in the municipality of Wilhering (Linz-Land district), the police took away the driving licenses of two traffic offenders on Tuesday morning. The officials had been informed about an alleged alcohol driver on the L1388 and found the vehicle they were looking for a little later with the engine running on the side of the road in Hitzing.

In an adjacent field, they discovered another empty car. Its driver, a 35-year-old Romanian, was sitting in the car on the side of the road with a 43-year-old compatriot. The 43-year-old explained the situation when he wanted to avoid an oncoming vehicle and drove into the field. He then asked the 43-year-old to pick him up.

An alcohol test in the 35-year-old showed a value of 2.0 per mille. His driver’s license was provisionally taken away. After several attempts, the 43-year-old refused the alcohol test. She also lost her driver’s license for the time being. When she was informed about this, she behaved aggressively and insulted the officials, despite repeated warnings. She was arrested and escorted to the Leonding police station, police said on Tuesday evening.
