On average, the day ticket for an adult was nine percent more expensive compared to the previous season. The cost for a family with two children aged ten and twelve for one day increased by around five percent.
The cheapest ski area is the Forsteralm. There, a day ticket costs 24 euros for an adult and twelve euros for children and young people up to the age of 18. 14 kilometers of pistes can be used, four tow lifts and one chair lift bring skiers up the mountain. Families with two children aged ten and twelve pay EUR 72 for one day without an Upper Austria family card, and EUR 54 for four hours.
Important tips
It’s worth bringing the Upper Austria family card with you. Almost all ski areas grant family discounts or free travel for children upon presentation of the card. Online booking can save time and money.
Other ski areas in comparison
The ski area Hochficht with 20 kilometers of pistes requires 50 euros for a day ticket for adults, Children (2008-2016) pay 23.50 euros and young people (2004-2007) 41 euros. There is a senior citizen discount (from 1958): you pay 45.50 euros. A family pays 141 euros for one day and 131 euros for four hours.
the Wurzeralm offers 22 kilometers of pistes with six drag lifts, two chair lifts and a cable car. Adults pay 52 euros for a day ticket, children (2008-2016) travel for 23.50 euros, young people (2004-2007) for 42 euros. The ski tickets for a family cost 151 euros per day, for 4 hours 131 euros.
The ski area Dachstein-West Gosau-Russbach-Annaberg is the largest of the compared areas with 51 kilometers of pistes. 19 tow lifts, eight chair lifts and five cable cars are available during the skiing day. For a day ticket, adults pay 57 euros, children (2007-2016) 29.60 euros, young people (2004-2006) 41 euros and senior citizens 54.20 euros. Families need 164.20 euros for the day ski pass. There are no four-hour tickets here, but three-hour tickets. A family pays about 140.20 euros for this.
Hinterstoder Höss is the second largest ski area with 40 kilometers of pistes, 16 drag lifts and two drag lifts and cable cars. Children (2008-2016) pay 25 euros, young people (2004-2007) 44 euros and adults 55 euros for a day ticket. A family has to pay 160 euros for a day and 138 euros for four hours.
