As thanks and recognition for their political work, the municipality of Laakirchen invited all long-serving and resigned city and municipal councilors to an evening of honor at the ALFA culture and event center. In a festive atmosphere, in the presence of the city council, Mayor Fritz Feichtinger (SPÖ) presented the former officials with decorations and medals for their many years of work in local politics.
Franz Hufnagl at the age of 42 and Johann Treml at the age of 36 were involved in the municipal and city councils for a particularly long time. The two received the gold medal of honor, the highest award given that evening.
Renate Trybek and Waltraud Müller, aged 30 and 40 respectively, also served the population for a particularly long time as municipal councillors. Like Heinz Stadlmayr, they were awarded the Silver Medal of Honor.
“It is not a matter of course to work for the common good for so long,” said Mayor Fritz Feichtinger. “I would like to thank each and everyone for their commitment.”
