There is now a Revital shop in Timelkam

Volkshilfe opened a new Revital concept store in Timelkam on Wednesday. Among others, Mayor Johann Kirchberger (SPÖ) and Environment Councilor Stefan Kaineder (Greens) were present.

The variety in the new Revital location is great: In addition to clothing, books, toys, electronic devices, sports and leisure items and antiques are also on offer. All offered goods are subjected to a strict quality control before they are sold in the shop. Anyone can shop at Volkshilfe. You don’t need a membership card or anything like that. “Anyone who comes to Volkshilfe buys with a clear conscience. This is because the shelf life of products is extended here, poverty is combated with low prices and this also contributes to integration in the labor market,” says Division Manager Fred Edlinger.

During his visit, Provincial Councilor Kaineder emphasized the advantages of shopping in the new Revital store. “On the one hand, you buy unique pieces here, which give them a very special value,” said Kaineder. “At the same time, I protect the environment and the climate by buying second-hand goods. And through my purchases, I indirectly enable and facilitate people’s re-entry into the labor market.”

As chairman of Volkshilfe Oberösterreich, Michael Schodermayr sees people as ideally embedded in the concept of the new concept store. “Lack of resources, the climate crisis, war and the inflationary waves especially affect those people who were not doing well before. This concept works very well here. We create jobs and above all the opportunity for people to buy things that they could not afford in a ‘normal’ shop. And that without degrading these customers to beneficiaries,” explained Schodermayr.

Thomas Anders, Managing Director of the Upper Austrian State Waste Management Association, addressed the issue of circular economy. “It’s about producing products in such a way that we don’t have to throw them away after use, but can put them back into circulation in shops like this one here in Timelkam – quality checked and value assured. Extending the life cycle is the primary goal of the Revital concept,” says Anders.
