Rotary: Two million euros for Ukraine projects

Linz/Vienna. Since the beginning of the war, the two Austrian Rotary districts in 1920 and 1910 have helped people in and from Ukraine with support totaling more than two million euros.

Funded aid includes medicines, medical equipment, food, toiletries, emergency generators, ambulances, shelters for refugees, clothing for orphans, everyday necessities and much more. Heinz Rieder, Governor of the Rotary District 1920 (Upper Austria, Salzburg, Tyrol, Vorarlberg), says: “We are experiencing the most social year in our history. Thanks to the support, we can also realize projects in Austria.”

This includes, for example, the organization of winter clothing for the Ukrainian orphans between the ages of seven and 16 who are housed in St. Georgen im Attergau, who came to Austria in March and are being cared for by Rotary.
