Alice has disappeared from the nursing home. Her three daughters have to deal intensively with their mother for the first time. What everyone knew: The married mother loved a woman, but this relationship was never addressed. Now this hidden love, but also the silence and the balance of power in the family become a topic.
The piece was created as part of the Thomas Bernhard grant from the Landestheater. Director Valerie Voigt brings Alice, who never gets a chance to speak, onto the stage in the form of a dancer. “It’s a modern family story that also reflects the social demands on motherhood,” says Voigt.
