Drunk man fled after accident with broken car

The 20-year-old from Hartheim (district Eferding) drove her car on Sunday night at 11:45 p.m. in Kirchberg-Thening on the B133 in the direction of Hörsching. At the intersection with the L1384, the woman left the road in a sharp left turn, collided with the guardrail, a street lamp and several traffic signs.

But that couldn’t stop the woman. She steered her badly damaged car, without the right front wheel, from the scene of the accident to a settlement and parked it there. She then fled on foot in the direction of Kirchberg. However, the woman was stopped by the Hörsching 1 police patrol in the course of the search in a housing estate. The alcohol test was positive, the woman had 1.34 per thousand alcohol in the blood. Her driver’s license was taken on the spot and she was forbidden to continue driving. The 20-year-old is reported to the Linz-Land district authority.

The Kirchberg-Thening volunteer fire brigade cleaned the accident site and removed the damaged street lamp.
