The arrests were preceded by intensive investigations by the task force to combat street crime (EGS). According to these, a 25-year-old man from Bosnia-Herzegovina and a 36-year-old Hungarian had delivered the drugs to Vienna, which were subsequently stored with a 39-year-old Croatian living in Vienna. In addition to the narcotics, cash in the amount of 8,990 euros, a handgun with the serial number ground out and a car that was probably used for smuggling trips were seized from the suspects.
About half of the confiscated cocaine was in the basement. The other part was found in a backpack in the car. Whether and to what extent the suspects belonged to an international gang is the subject of the ongoing investigation.
