Instead of peanuts, chocolate and tangerines, St. Nicholas handed out hot drinks with a shot at Linz Cathedral Square. From “Hot Campari” to “Brataffepunsch” – Pascal Kitzmüller and Karl Weixelbaumer alias 2:tages:bart serve the unusual punch creations on Tuesday evenings from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Glückshütte near Advent am Dom. They will hardly be overlooked: “We’re standing behind the Budel dressed up as Santa Claus and Krampus,” says the duo.
In addition, Kitzmüller and Weixelbaumer slip into the role of the Christkindl helpers. With the campaign, they also want to give a little joy to those who are going through a difficult time. The proceeds benefit the OÖN Christkindl. It is the country’s largest fundraiser, which has been helping Upper Austrians in financial distress since 1964. Anyone who ends St. Nicholas Day with RuMonkey from Peter Affenzeller or Hot Hugo is also setting a sign of togetherness. For 2:tages:bart this is not the first appearance as Santa Claus and Krampus: in the past they had brought Christmas greetings digitally. “This year we will be appearing live for the first time at our Good Karma punch stand,” says Weixelbaumer.
Also with a donation to the Christkindl account AT94 2032 0000 0011 1790 (IBAN) you can support the OÖN Christmas campaign. Thanks to all helpers!
