The members of the Salzkammergut model railway club have already invested an unbelievable 40,000 working hours to create one of the largest model railway systems in the state in the Salzkammergut shopping park in Gmunden. Packed in it are many sights of the Salzkammergut: the old Grünberg cable car, Ort Castle, the steamboat Gisela, the Gmundner Esplanade, the Schafberg, the old Attnanger train station and its depot. But also the Salzkammergut shopping park, a concrete plant from the Asamer company, trains from the Stern & Hafferl company and vehicles from local companies can be found on the 120 square meter facility, where a lot rotates and moves: For example, the fire brigade puts out a fire on the Esplanade cleared, a Ferris wheel spins, and a forest worker cuts down a tree.
The facility is open on December 10, 17, 28 and January 7, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on December 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
