Witness pursued fleeing alcohol driver after traffic accident

The 32-year-old driver from Adlwang had 1.2 per mil alcohol in his blood when he overtook a 54-year-old driver from Weifersdorf shortly after 5 p.m. on a blind spot in Kematen. The oncoming driver, a 46-year-old from Pfarrkirchen near Bad Hall, swerved to the right at the last moment, thereby avoiding a head-on collision, but crashed his car into the guardrail.

The alcohol driver also jerked his car to the right, thereby grazing the car he was about to overtake and then crashing into the oncoming car. After that, the man just drove on. But the driver from Weifersdorf (district Linz-Land) pursued him, honked and gave signals with the headlight flasher. After about 500 meters, the drunk stopped.

Nobody was injured in the accident. The 32-year-old is shown.
