Stabbed father: Life for 29-year-olds

The verdict of the jury was unanimous. The woman was accused of attacking her father with a kitchen knife in Neustift in the Stubaital in November 2021 and inflicting numerous stab and cut injuries on him, the consequences of which ultimately led to the 57-year-old’s death.

The father was “drunk and became more and more aggressive” when she visited his apartment, the accused told the jury. “Before, I would confront him about various things in conversation and he would become more and more vicious.” Eventually, she was “scared,” “became more and more angry,” and finally “exploded.” However, she has “no recollection” of the exact course of events afterwards, nor how the knife came into her hand.

Finally, the psychiatric expert Adelheid Kastner provided information in her report on the exact condition of the accused at the time of the crime. The woman was driven by this obsession due to the separation of her father and mother and her desire to rebuild a good relationship with her father, but was sane at the time of the killing. “Although she had limited control over her actions, her sanity was never lifted,” explained Kastner in the process. The accused made many decisions in the “dynamic course of events”.
