Musical Advent Calendar: December 9th

It’s going to be jazzy today. Klara Wienerroither, student of Martin Smooth Obereder (here also the pianist), delights us with an American composition from 1945, which subsequently caused a sensation when interpreted by Nat King Cole: “The Christmas Song”.

Other greats of vocal jazz, such as Ella Fitzgerald, also helped this jazz standard, which in Klara Wienerrroither’s version radiates the calm of flaky snowfall, to immortal fame, so to speak. This video is also remarkable because it clearly demonstrates the special style: it is a skilful combination of studio recording and live recording.
