According to police reports from Sunday, the man wanted to go to Aspangberg-St. Peter (Neunkirchen district) after a quarrel set fire to the jacket of a 24-year-old. The victim was able to escape into the house. After that, the 30-year-old is said to have spilled a flammable liquid in front of the door. He was caught on Friday in Wiener Neustadt.
The local is said to have poured a flammable liquid – specifically acetone – on the back of the garment and tried to ignite it with a storm lighter, the executive said in a broadcast. Because the 24-year-old from the Neunkirchen district was able to flee into the building, it was just an attempt. Then the suspect is said to have spilled acetone on the outside of the front door, but there was no fire. The 30-year-old, armed with a knife, is said to have asked the victim to come out of the building.
While the 24-year-old called the police, the suspect fled. A search was initially unsuccessful. The 30-year-old was arrested on Friday afternoon on a train at the Wiener Neustadt train station by order of the Wiener Neustadt public prosecutor’s office and taken to the statutory prison.
