The young man ruefully returned to the cottage on foot and confessed his jaunt. While he was making his complaints to the police, two snow groomers from the Planai-Bahnen pulled the stuck car back onto the street, the police said.
“Curious Theft”
The “curious vehicle theft”, according to the Styrian police headquarters on Sunday, happened around 6 p.m.: The 19-year-old had observed how the landlady started her vehicle and then left it again to get something out of the hut. The apres-ski guest apparently saw this as an invitation and got behind the wheel of the car. He drove off, but quickly veered off the mountain road because of the snowfall, and then continued down the ski slope until he got stuck.

In the meantime, the 49-year-old car owner had called the police and stated that her car had been stolen by a young man. When the investigators finally got to her, the thief was already standing next to her again, but without a car. He didn’t know exactly where to leave the car. Finally, the vehicle was found on the ski slope. “Numerous administrative and criminal charges are now waiting for the young man,” the police said in the broadcast. Two snow groomers from the Planai Bahnen rescued the stuck car and needed it back to the road.
