Against loneliness

This is to be based on the Graz program “Points4Action”, in which young people are motivated to engage in cross-generational commitment via an incentive system. They can qualify for the program through workshops, after which they independently contact senior citizens (eg in senior citizens’ facilities). During visits, people play together, make music or get support on technical issues. In return, the young people receive points that they can redeem at partner companies (such as cinemas). For Manhal, such an initiative would offer advantages for everyone involved, seniors could actively participate in social life, young people could sharpen their social skills, and caring relatives and nursing staff would be relieved. The proposal will be put to the vote in the municipal council on December 15th.
