Sometimes it helps to look at something from a distance. The earth too – and itself. Because its inhabitants have become selfish earth destroyers, aerospace engineer Sylvie hijacks a spaceship and from then on circles alone in space. But she has an involuntary stowaway on board: Erol, a moonlighting cleaning lady. The play “Schwerelos” by Heidelberg author Marcus Imbsweiler, which premiered in June, tells how their trip through space leads them both to the core of being human – also in person at the Austrian premiere in the Tribüne Linz. In Ethem Saygieder’s production, the disco ball and video wall transform the stage and auditorium into an atmospheric, galactic sea of stars. With the sober researcher Sylvie and the “belly person” Erol, two worlds collide and provide the spark for big questions: How do we want to live, in the real or virtual world? What makes us human? Love maybe, interpersonal bonds? They are provided by two former, proven Tribüne forces: Kristin Henkel peels the soft core out of her distant researcher, Alexander Lughofer frees himself from her bondage as a man with a heart and changes course for both of them.
