In a trial for attempted grievous bodily harm, the regional court dealt with a wild argument between young people in the old town of Linz. A 21-year-old Afghan sat in the dock who attacked a woman and a man who rushed to help with a glass bottle in May this year.
The scenes were filmed by a surveillance camera: They show how three girls get into an argument, tearing each other’s hair. One was the defendant’s girlfriend. He then hit the second woman’s head twice with a bottle. When a man rushed over to de-escalate, the Afghan also hit him in the head four times with the bottle. The accused, previously convicted of drug trafficking, received an additional sentence and now has to serve a total of 32 months. A procedure for the withdrawal of subsidiary protection is in progress, it said.
