On the tour, all the rooms in the ward – such as the CTG room, the two delivery rooms, the baby room, the birthing bathtub and also a patient room – can be explored with a click of the mouse.
“This virtual tour is intended to give women and their partners confidence and eliminate any fears,” says Thomas Puchner, head of the department for gynecology and obstetrics at the Schärding Clinic. However, it is important to emphasize that the 3D tour is only seen as an additional service. Under no circumstances should this replace the personal care of expectant mothers. “Every pregnant woman still has the opportunity to have a check-up carried out in the clinic two to three weeks before the birth,” says Puchner. There is also the opportunity to take a look at the maternity ward and talk to the midwives in person.
