The operation is focused on people linked to the financing and execution of road blockades, destruction of public and private assets, threats to the population and attacks against the Constitution that occurred throughout the country after Lula’s victory over Bolsonaro in the second round from October 30.

The four detainees, including a regional deputy, are from the state of Espírito Santo, in the southeast region.

The raids were carried out at the homes of businessmen linked to agribusiness and cargo transportation in Brasilia and in the states of Acre, Amazonas, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraná and Santa Catarina, all strongholds of Bolsonarism.

Bolsonaro’s Liberal Party shipping a report to the electoral court pointing out flaws in the electronic ballot boxes, which was rejected by the entire political spectrum, including the political forces that supported Bolsonaro’s unsuccessful re-election.

The president has not yet publicly acknowledged defeat or congratulated the winner of the election.

Judge Moraes had frozen bank accounts of 43 transport businessmen who financed the events and blocked routes calling for a coup after Lula’s victory.

The judicial operation occurs after Bolsonaro groups set fire to buses and cars in downtown Brasilia on Monday night as part of the protests against Lula’s inauguration, scheduled for January 1.

Lula’s future Justice Minister, Flavio Dino, assured that the transfer of command ceremony will be protected from possible acts of protest by Bolsonaro sectors.
