Impact against the Soyuz
The space agency noted that a micrometeorite may have caused the leak.
Images released by NASA TV showed particles that looked like snowflakes escaping from the back of the spacecraft for hours.
According to the US agency, “most of the fluid spilled” on Thursday, but the coolant did not pose any threat to the crew, since the spacewalk was suspended.

“The temperatures and humidity inside the Soyuz spacecraft (…) are within acceptable limits,” NASA said.
Flight controllers conducted a “successful test” of the aircraft’s thrusters on Friday, the agency added, reporting other evaluations in progress.
The ISS is one of the few fields of cooperation still ongoing between Moscow and Washington since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine and the sanctions imposed by western powers against Russia.
