The young woman from the Salzburg-Land district skidded her car on the snowy road shortly after 2 p.m. and crashed head-on in a sloping right-hand bend with the oncoming car of a 39-year-old from Lochen (Braunau district). Three fire brigades were deployed. For the 18-year-old, however, any help came too late: She was so badly injured in the collision that she died at the scene of the accident despite immediate resuscitation measures by the Red Cross and the emergency medical team from Braunau.
The 39-year-old was also seriously injured: After first aid, he had to be flown to the Salzkammergut Klinikum Vöcklabruck with the emergency doctor helicopter.
