The Goiserer municipal council unanimously decided on a balanced budget for the year 2023. In order to break even, the market town has to fall back on around 400,000 euros in savings.
Sharply rising contributions for hospitals (plus 20 percent) as well as care and social assistance (plus 11 percent) made budgeting difficult. “Nevertheless, all projects that are on the agenda for 2023 can be included in the budget,” explains Mayor Leopold Schilcher (SPÖ). “Above all, the redesign of the market square and the construction of an object for affordable living and a crèche in Stampfl. The renovation of the Sophienbrücke was newly included in the budget. This must be done before major damage occurs.”
According to Schilcher, sewer fees and garbage fees will not be increased. The same applies to the park pool tariffs for children. The community is helping to mitigate the rising cost of Meals on Wheels with money from the federal vaccination campaign.
