In a few days it will be time for the presents again. What shouldn’t be missing? The right Christmas tree, of course.
There are a total of eleven Christmas tree markets this year in the state capital, around 30,000 trees – small and large, bushy and narrow – are sold by the dealers there every year.
The markets are generally open from 8 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. On Christmas Eve, those who make spontaneous decisions still have the opportunity to choose a tree until late in the afternoon.
The largest Christmas tree market is the one at the Urfahraner fairgrounds, followed by the one at the Südbahnhofmarkt. There are also offers in the Volksgarten, Glimpfingerstraße, Lunaplatz, Lonstorferplatz, Dauphinestraße, Heinrich-Kandl-Weg, Bindermichl, Grünmarkt Urfahr and Neue Heimat.
“Most of the trees come from local forests, so we also help the regional economy,” says the responsible city councilor Doris Lang-Mayerhofer (VP).
