The woman had walked to the bus stop in the Gnigl district, where the bus heading into town was just arriving. According to witnesses, the woman from Salzburg slipped and slid feet first under the bus. This rolled over the woman with the rear wheels in the lower body, the police reported in the afternoon.
Red Cross helpers and an emergency doctor cared for the 54-year-old at the scene of the accident, after which she was taken to the university hospital. An alcohol test on the 43-year-old bus driver was negative, but this was not possible for the woman due to her serious injury.
