As the ÖAMTC announced, the parallel Pyhrnautobahn (A9) was also closed due to maintenance work between St. Pankraz and Windischgarsten. A kilometer-long traffic jam quickly built up because traffic could not be diverted from the autobahn to the B 138.
At 7 p.m., the ÖAMTC assumed that the federal road would remain open for at least an hour, and the rescue helicopter was on its way to the scene of the accident. Details were not known for the time being.
