We will try to sell ourselves as dearly as possible.” The UVC McDonald’s Ried coach Dominik Kefer said these words before the Bundesliga home game against Amstetten on Monday evening. The Rieder then sold more than just expensive against the Mostviertler: In the ORF live game, the Innviertler celebrated a clear 3-0 home win.
700 fans in the volleydome
With the support of around 700 fans in the Raiffeisen Volleydome, Rieder got off to a good start and won the first set 25:23. This was the first step towards home victory. The Rieder also won the following two sets with 25:22 and 25:19. With the 3:0 success, the Innviertler secured three points.
After eleven match days, there is a clear trend in the table of the volleyball Bundesliga. The outstanding team is Hypo Tirol (30 points), which has won all previous games. Hartberg is six points behind, followed by Aich/Dob and Amstetten (21 points each) as well as Waldviertel and UVC Ried with 20 points each. The distance to Graz, seventh in the table, is already eleven points.
The big season goal of Rieder in the regular round – a place in the top four – is still within reach.
After the short Christmas break, UVC Ried continues on January 7th with the difficult away game at leaders Hypo Tirol.
