The Elz village community has already put into practice Goethe’s words “How fertile is the smallest circle if you know how to take care of it”. This was also the case these days at a highly atmospheric Advent celebration: “Berg & Tal-Blech”, the Lachstattmusi, the folk dance group and vocal soloist Cassandra McConnel-Grujcic from Pennsylvania/USA brought “A quiet hour” from the village of 180 inhabitants to the parish church.
They all, based in Elz or related to Elz, showed a high artistic level. The ensembles did not swarm out to distant countries with their contributions, but warmed the hearts of the visitors with down-to-earth folk music. The folk dance group, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, offered a rarely beautiful picture in front of the high altar. Presenter and organizer Hermann Sandner led through the program with poems and short stories.
Since Elz belongs to the parish of Kefermarkt, but belongs to the municipality of Lasberg, “A quiet hour” could also be enjoyed the following day with somewhat different protagonists in the parish church of Lasberg.
