“Social Innovation” is the title of the fifth Linz Hackathon or Makerthon, which will take place from March 24th to 26th. Questions from people who are confronted with problems and limitations of all kinds in everyday life are to be addressed. The topics range from barriers in public space and language barriers to difficulties in old age or cross-generational challenges.
In order to make the Linz start-up ecosystem and the main players in the local innovation scene internationally visible, a start-up guide will be created in the coming year, which will provide relevant information, important data and facts, inspiring stories from start-ups and founders, insights in important trends and interviews with the people and doers of Linz’s corporate and creative scene. The aim is to bring talent, start-ups and investors to Linz, announced Mayor Klaus Luger (SP).
Incidentally, as in this year, the city of Linz will be awarding start-up grants to help ideas become marketable.
