The student was a guest at the meeting of the city senate today and brought this year’s light of peace to the leaders of Linz city politics. The twelve year old handed over the traditional Fmessage of peace from ORF Upper Austria. “I would like to thank you for this symbol of peace and peaceful interaction with each other,” says Mayor Klaus Luger (SP).
City of Peace since 1986
Linz has been an official city of peace since 1986 and organizes large and small activities in this context every year. “Given the global political situation – especially with regard to the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine in our European neighborhood – symbols and traditions of peace are more important than ever,” says Luger.
