The location for the new headquarters of the Linz security service should actually be found by the end of the year, but this goal will not be able to be met, so much is already certain.
City councilor Michael Raml (FP), who is responsible for the security agenda, is confident that a decision could be made at the beginning of the new year. Promising talks were being held about a property in the southern inner city.
Raml is convinced that if an agreement is reached, a strategically favorable location would be found. As reported, the background to the property search is the desire for a location that is more centrally located than the current one. The security service is currently based at the Urfahran fairgrounds.
With the new headquarters, the distances for employees are to be significantly reduced – not only to the city center and to the area around the main train station, but also to the south of Linz, which is expected to continue to grow strongly in the coming years.
