In the most recent Welser municipal council, the mandataries decided on a support package for people who are particularly affected by rising living costs. 2.3 million are earmarked for this. Applications are accepted from 9 January to 3 March between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. in the Greif office building.
The package includes the payment of the parents’ contributions to childcare and all-day schools for two months each, as well as a monthly contribution to mobile care.
In addition, one-time payments are distributed. The group of recipients was limited to Austrians, EU and EEA citizens (main residence in Wels for a year) and third-country nationals (main residence for ten years). There are upper limits for income (single person: 1800 euros, spouse/partner: 2600 euros). The income limits are increased by 120 euros per child. The subsidy is 100 euros for the applicant and 50 euros for each additional household member.
“It is a need for us to support the Wels population as much as possible and to give them security,” emphasized Mayor Andreas Rabl and social officer Christa Raggl-Mühlberger (both FP).
