Upper Austria’s trotter legend Adolf “Adi” Übleis is dead

He had celebrated his first success in 1957, in 1964 Uleis moved to the professional camp. His sporting highlight was on May 16, 1971, when the then 33-year-old became professional world champion in Philadelphia. The Thalheimer was European champion twice.

In Austria, bad things clearly dominated. In the “golden days” of the 1970s and 1980s he won everything that matters in this sport – including four times the derby with Big Ben (1970), Vulkan (1979), Action Francaise (1986) and Mick Dundee (1992 ).
