“We’re happy to help and look forward to this service every year. We live just a few steps from the local office, so we don’t mind,” says Christoph Fürst.
Especially on Christmas Eve, people’s personal feelings are much stronger than on other days. “Mei, that you have to go out now because of me,” the two then often hear and feel even more gratitude in the population than on normal days of the year.
Erich Fürst is a veteran of the Red Cross: he has been serving his fellow human beings for 35 years. His nephew Christoph joined 15 years ago through community service. Christoph took over the management of the local office two years ago and is now bringing fresh impetus and youthful vigor to the small Red Cross base, which only has one ambulance.
