Alkolenker raced at 235 km/h on the western autobahn

A 28-year-old can expect several reports after a turbulent drive on the A1: Not only did he get behind the wheel of his car, heavily intoxicated, he was also driving at far too high a speed and performing hair-raising driving manoeuvres.

Civil patrols pursued

The young man from Hungary was noticed by a female driver on Sunday around 10:45 a.m. because of his aggressive driving style. The woman alerted the police via an emergency call. A civil patrol by the state traffic department noticed the car they were looking for around 20 minutes later near Eberstalzell and took up the night drive.

This was “difficult despite the heavily motorized service vehicle,” according to the police. After all, the driver was traveling in the left lane at a speed of 235 km/h, harassed several road users in front of him and even tried to overtake a car in the third lane.

Only after a good 25 kilometers could the car be stopped at the height of “Puckinger Berg”. Upon inspection, it turned out that the man was heavily intoxicated. An alcohol test showed a value of 1.96 per mille.

But that’s not all: In the passenger seat was a man against whom there is a ban on staying. He was arrested and transferred to the Wels police detention center, according to the police on Sunday evening.
