The Civil Police arrested Oliveira Sousa last night on suspicion of having tried to blow up a fuel truck near the Brasilia International Airport.

According to the suspect’s version, he also planned to install explosives on poles near an electrical substation in Taguatinga, a city in the Federal District.

“An unknown woman suggested to the protesters at the barracks that a bomb be installed in the Taguatinga electrical substation to cause a lack of electricity and start the chaos that would lead to the declaration of a state of siege,” confessed the detainee, aged 54. years.

He said that he works as a manager at a service station in the interior of the state of Pará and that, since October last year, when he obtained the license to carry weapons, he has bought pistols, revolvers, rifles, carbines and ammunition.

In addition to being captured, he was also the subject of a search and seizure.

Investigators collected at least five explosives similar to the one used in the truck, several weapons and a rifle.

Oliveira Sousa declared that he was a Bolsonaro supporter and participated in the camp created in front of the QG in the Brazilian capital.

Cândido also said that the suspect will be charged with illegal possession and carrying of firearms, ammunition and explosive devices, in addition to a crime against the democratic rule of law.
