Gründl was mayor of the Attersee community for 18 years from 2003 to 2021. During his tenure, for example, the old train station was relocated, roads and canals were expanded and renovated, and numerous economically important companies settled there. The redesign of the marketplace posed major challenges. The project, which was carried out under Gründl’s management, achieved first place at the 29th local image fair in Freistadt.
