At the beginning of the year, young people in the district capital can enjoy a youth taxi. From January, young people between the ages of 14 and 21 pay only a third of the fare with this offer. The municipality and the state of Upper Austria will take care of the rest.
“We want our young people to come home safely and cheaply,” says Freistadt Mayor Christian Gratzl (SP) about the new mobility offer. The youth taxi can be used daily between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. throughout Upper Austria. 27 taxi companies are involved nationwide, in Freistadt currently Taxi Gerhard and Habbi Taxi.
If you want to use the youth taxi, you need a valid 4youCard and the 4youCard app on your cell phone. Young people can have the subsidized vouchers activated from Monday, January 2nd, in the Citizens Service of the city office. A maximum of 30 vouchers can be collected per person per year. The taxi rides are paid for digitally and easily with a mobile phone app directly in the taxi. In Freistadt there are around 600 young people between the ages of 14 and 21 who benefit from this new offer for safe mobility.
