Great demand for the Linz New Year’s Eve Run

Great demand for the Linz New Year’s Eve Run

“We didn’t expect such a big response.” Peter Weinzierl, head of organization at the TriRun Linz association, is referring to the Hypo New Year’s Eve run in the state capital, which will again offer a collective movement experience on December 31st. After two years, in which Corona nipped the sporting ambitions in the bud at the turn of the year, more than 800 runners are expected.

Weinzierl believes that the weather forecast, which promises almost spring-like temperatures for New Year’s Eve, may also have contributed to the run on the Linz New Year’s Eve Run. But he also sees this as confirmation of the attraction of the New Year’s Eve run, which will be held for the 20th time this year.

Starting numbers from today

Before the sporty start on December 31, at 3 p.m. from the main square, to run one or two laps through the city center and thus a maximum of six kilometers (the children’s runs start at 2 p.m.), the start number distribution begins today. In the “Runners” running shop on the main street in Urfahr, active participants can conveniently pick up their starting documents on December 29 and 30 during shop hours (10 a.m. – 1 p.m., 3 p.m. – 6.30 p.m.).

On New Year’s Eve, the race office is open from 12 to 2 p.m. in the Kunst-Uni in the right-hand bridgehead building. Late registrations are still possible. All information about the traditional run: www.silvesterlauf-linz.at
