This is shown by a study (published in the journal “PNAS”) in which more than 300,000 people from almost 60 countries took part and completed a well-known empathy test. The British psychologist Simon Baron-Cohen (Cambridge Autism Research Center) developed the “Reading the Mind in the Eyes” test.
The aim is to determine emotional states based on photos of the eyes. “The study provides some of the first evidence that women around the world are, on average, more empathetic than men,” said David Greenberg, study author and psychologist at the University of Cambridge.
