In a year-on-year comparison, the number of calves auctioned remained almost stable. However, the number of buyers has been falling for years, and this trend has continued in 2022, according to the Simmental Breeding Association FIH.

Good demand lately

At the last calf auction of the Simmental Breeding Association FIH in 2022, around 400 calves were offered for sale in Ried – by local fatteners and larger companies. According to the Simmental Breeding Association, demand was good.
